Nova Scotia
The final port of call for our "unsinkable" adventure is Nova Scotia, particularly the capital city. Halifax is well-known for its involvement with RMS Titanic shortly after the sinking on 14-15 April, 1912.
Our Halifax itinerary revolves mostly around the Titanic expedition. We explore the two main cemeteries, Fairview Lawn Cemetery and Mount Olivet, which hold 169 victims combined. We also attempt to dive into the deep depths of the ocean; enjoy the local Halifax Gardens, with a Titanic supposedly floating in a pond nearby; and experience the Maritime Museum, which has a Titanic exhibit along with many other shipwrecks.
After an amazing experience seeing Titanic artifacts, landmarks, and touring Halifax, we headed out for a last-day scenic drive toward Peggy's Cove and Lunenburg, Nova Scotia.
What an amazing trip my parents and I took to Halifax! From the gorgeous scenery in Cape Breton, to the laid-back lifestyle on Prince Edward Island, to seeing world wonders and getting monsooned on while ziplining in New Brunswick, to seeing RMS Titanic artifacts and remains up close, our "unsinkable" family adventure was a vacation full of fascinating history, beautiful scenery, and great cultural immersion. Finding the fanciest airport lounge for our overnight stay at the airport was only fitting to end our adventure.
