Trip Reflections

Ever since starting grade school, my parents and I have taken several trips, from historic sightseeing in Philadelphia to relaxing in the Florida panhandle. I was inspired to create photo books to remember vacations. I created my first scrapbook in the Spring of 2010 to reflect our trip to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.

Great memories from Spain and Portugal!

My inspiration to create trip recollections only grew from this trip. Some more memorable ones I have created include sightseeing New England (scrapbook), the West Coast Adventure (photo album), drive to Canada out to Quebec (blog report), and most recently, our Spain and Portugal adventure (photo book seen here) in 2019. In these photo books, I include photos of scenery, from oceans and bodies of water to beautiful landscapes around. I also like to include family pictures in these albums, to remember certain activities we did on a vacation. While many people enjoy photography and scrapbooking, my variety of this comes from traveling with family. I look forward to continuing this hobby of scrapbooking as I take more trips.

Personal Narrative

Three years ago, many of my friends were beginning to drive. I had my field of vision test on March 6, 2017, and my opthalmologist said, "Dylan, due to limited peripheral vision, you are not able to drive."

While this was tough to swallow, I woke up the next morning with a different mindset. What new ways can I get around, either using local transit or riding with other friends?, I thought, not wanting to make an issue. That inspired me to use Metro Transit around the Twin Cities. I quickly enjoyed using Metro Transit; I used it to get downtown every day for internship training, among many other things, and it gave me a greater sense of independence.

Yes, I still think about not driving at times. However, between using my bike and Metro Transit often, I have learned to adapt to not being able to get a license. And I've enjoyed both using my bike and Metro Transit to get around.
